"For me, art is about the process of the creation of a piece...the molding of the clay, so to speak. The end result, the final manifestation of one piece of art, is just the closing of one door and the opening of another. Art is ever-flowing. It is one continuous stream of joy and purpose, of life and love. Often, I capture a visual translation of a moment in time, my vulnerable moment, my experience of riding the wave...it is captured and displayed for all to view, to judge, to criticize or to love, to ignore or to embrace, to resist or accept and empower. My art is simply a reflection of all that surrounds me--emotionally, physically, sensually, environmentally, geographically, musically. It is the act of surrendering that I love. Art is just a tool I use to connect tosomething much greater than myself. When I paint I am in pure bliss. It represents polarity: sweet and innocent, yet intense and fierce, heavy and omnipresent, but pure and raw. Art is the process, as well as the piece." - Theresa Marie Heinrich |
